Fibon Energy, founded in 2012, is a South African energy company that develops clean energy solutions for commercial and industrial companies in South Africa.
We provide a turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) service and develop energy solutions that require no upfront costs from our clients. We own, operate and maintain Solar Systems offering an alternative to ownership and capex purchases through our Fibon Solar PPA. We own, operate and maintain >R80 million of Solar Systems across South Africa.
We are a close-knit team, entrepreneurial by nature and results driven. We are growing our team and are looking for a project manager to manage activities in Fibon’s proposals and projects. We are a performance driven culture and reward our team members. We are based in Johannesburg.
Minimum Requirements
- 1. Experience (6 years+) in the South African solar industry working in rooftop, ground mount or carport projects for commercial and industrial (C&I) companies
- 2. Experience in project management: Certified Project Management Professional (Project Management Institute - PMI)/Project Management Certification
- 3. BSc, BEng/BTech electrical/energy/mechatronics,
- 4. Working knowledge of both PVSyst and PVsol
- 5. Proficient in MS Office & Project tools, including MS Project. Smartsheet a benefit
- 6. Registration with ECSA as a professional engineer or in process (added advantage)
- 7. Must have own transport including vehicle.
- 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Responsibilities - Project Management
- 1.1. Leading and managing activities for proposals (pitch stage) and on-going projects.
- 1.2. Co-ordinating the engineering, finance, commercial and legal inputs required from the team for proposals and ongoing projects.
- 1.3. Managing, preparing, and collating tender response submissions.
- 1.4. Overseeing and undertaking procurement processes, scheduling and logistics for projects.
- 1.5. Managing the project program for the installation team on site and subcontractors.
- 1.6. Managing contract documents, risks and changes throughout the project.

- 4. Fully proficient in both PVSyst and PVsol, (Homer Pro a benefit)
- 5. MS Office & Project tools like MS Project, (Smartsheet a benefit)
- 6. Registration with ECSA as a professional engineer or in process (added advantage)
- 7. Must have own transport including vehicle.

- 1.1. Develop conceptual engineering proposals, including designs of solar projects.
Essential Responsibilities - Engineering and Procurement
- 2.1. Successful deployment of solar projects according to scope, within budget and as per strict deadlines.
- 2.2. Planning, scheduling, liaising, coordinating and monitoring C&I solar energy generation power plants.
- 2.3. Reporting site assessments, pricing and logistics, design, creating schedules.
- 2.4. Supporting the senior engineer in the review of contracts and ensuring legal and health and safety requirements are met.
- 2.5. Support the senior engineer in managing regulatory requirements, including SSEG applications.
Essential Responsibilities - Project Management
- 3.1. Responsible for providing direction and support to the construction manager for adherence to timely compliances from all the contractors and subcontractors for execution of work smoothly and timely
- 3.2. Management, overseeing and supervision of the installation team, subcontractors and suppliers with regular onsite inspections.
- 3.3. Overseeing and undertaking procurement processes, scheduling, logistics.
- 3.4. Overseeing and conducting operations and maintenance on projects.
